Who Are We?

Chesson Education was founded in 2018 in Christ Church, Oxford, on the principle that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution to education.

Since then we have been building a roster of exceptional tutors from Oxford, Cambridge or elite medical schools. Our team of highly educated tutors are chosen for their effective and exciting communication skills as much as their academic excellence and proven teaching track record.

In order to deliver truly excellent education we prioritise the needs of the individual above everything else. Our approach to structuring content as well as its delivery is completely tailored to each student.

We equip students with the necessary tools to succeed in exams and in life.

First class teaching requires the best teachers. Our tutors are chosen for their rigorous academic achievements as well as their capacity for effective and engaging communication. All of our tutors are either from Oxford, Cambridge or are practicing medical doctors and they all have years of experience before joining our team.

Insightful Communication

Our organisation is structured around consistent communication with our students and their parents.

After an initial assessment our tutors will write an evaluation alongside a roadmap to success. We continue to keep parents updated regularly to ensure the best actions are taken with plenty of time.

Our education is focused on a vision of long term success. Stress and burnout are very real issues that can harm students and prevent them from achieving their full potential.

Meet some of our tutors

  • Philippe Marchant

    Our founder has been helping students maximise their potential for almost a decade.

    He has a degree from the University of Oxford and has been helping applicants ace their interviews ever since.

    He speaks English, French, Spanish and Italian.

    Fun fact:

    Philippe has a collection of over 50 recipe books and still doesn’t know what to cook for dinner.

  • Salimah Bilal

    Salimah’s infectious enthusiasm has graced the Chesson team for years. She has been teaching languages from ab initio to University level after studying French and Arabic at the University of Oxford.

    Fun fact:

    Don’t be fooled by her sweet demeanor: Salimah has a black belt in Karate, nobody in the office would dare mess with her.

  • Dr Ying Jin

    Dr. Ying is our resident Medical school specialist. He studied at Imperial College and currently practices medicine at Whittington Hospital. His ability to put students at ease whilst teaching them difficult concepts has earnt him immense respect over his 7 years of tutoring experience.

    Fun fact:

    Ying can play the bagpipes, we sometimes wonder if there is anything he can’t do.

  • Dr Roa Hassan

    Dr. Hassan is an award winning doctor, published in the British Medical Journal and known for her amazing efficiency.

    She is a veteran tutor who specialises in teaching STEM subjects in creative yet effective ways.

    Fun fact:

    Due to an administrative error, Dr. Hassan has two birthdays. Yes, she does expect us to celebrate both.
